Surgery--But I Needed That.

Hello, all:

It turns out that I did need surgery on that right shoulder.
I received it from a Dr. Lalani at Sturgeon Community Hospital
in St. Albert during the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, October
17. The doctor seemed pleased with how the surgery went, and I was
dischargedon the Thursday evening.
After my surgery, I was required to spend the day hooked up to a
contraption called the HemoVac. The HemoVac uses a vacuum
to suck out any blood and fluid that remains in the shoulder after the
surgery. Hmmm...I wonder if Marci Chesterton had to use something
like that after her shoulder surgery?
Anyhow, the doctors have done what they can for now. Please pray for
my continuing recovery and particularly that I may be steadfast in
doing all I can do to advance that recovery.

Yours thankfully,
Douglas MacNeill

D-day minus 2 about my shoulder

Hello, all:

About 10 days ago, I broke my shoulder in five or so places when
I fell down a flight of stairs. As the title indicates, it is two more days
until D-day about that shoulder. H-hour for me to start finding out
about it is 10 AM (or 1000 hours). To do this, I must go to a
specialist in St. Albert, AB. He may or may not want additional tests
or examinations, but I hope to find out from him what needs to be done
(any surgery required, how long I must stay in a cast, and so on).

Once I do find out more about my present situation, I'll offer a further post
to let you know, too.

Thanks for your cards, best wishes, and not least your prayers during
my convalescence.
